Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Aiwanger visits Baumgarten gas station

The Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, visited on 17.11.22, the Baumgarten gas hub in Lower Austria, which is operated by Gas Connect Austria and Trans Austria Gasleitung, as part of a ministerial trip. The focus of the ministerial trip, which took him to Italy and Austria, was the topic of import possibilities for natural gas and hydrogen.

During the visit, the delegation around the Minister of Economic Affairs was able to learn about the importance of Baumgarten for the gas and in future hydrogen supply in Central Europe as well as the current situation of the gas flows. The visit was rounded off with a tour of the facility of Austria's largest import station for natural gas.
In the future, Austria's gas infrastructure can be used to transport hydrogen from Italy or Ukraine and onward to neighboring countries such as Germany. This could also supply the Bavarian chemical triangle, for example.

The Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Aiwanger, was impressed by the plant in Baumgarten and noted: "There is no alternative to the fact that the network operators of today, with their expert knowledge, should also be the network operators for future gases."
