On April 14, 2025, the Hydrogen Interconnections in Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe (HI EAST) group meeting convened at the Albert Borschette Conference Center in Brussels to present and discuss candidate projects for the EU’s second Union list of Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) and Projects of Mutual Interest (PMIs).
This meeting brought together project promoters, national regulatory authorities (NRAs), EU Member States, third-country representatives and other key stakeholders to discuss hydrogen infrastructure projects that could shape the future of Europe’s energy system.

Our “H2 Readiness of the TAG Pipeline System” project (H2 Readiness TAG), part of the SoutH2 Corridor, is a major milestone toward enabling cross-border hydrogen transport infrastructure and accelerating Europe’s clean energy transition.
The SoutH2 Corridor, an initiative led by the European Transmission System Operators Snam S.p.A. (Italy), TAG GmbH and Gas Connect Austria GmbH (Austria), and bayernets GmbH (Germany). This 3,300 km hydrogen pipeline will connect North Africa to Central Europe, ensuring a competitive supply of renewable hydrogen.
At TAG, our core mission – to support the flow of energy – is evolving into a commitment to supporting the flow of even more sustainable energy. Hydrogen will play a crucial role in achieving climate neutrality, and we are proud to be actively shaping the future of European energy infrastructure.
This meeting represented an excellent opportunity to engage with decision-makers and provide valuable input on projects that will define Europe’s hydrogen landscape.
