As part of Daughter’s Day 2026, TAG GmbH opened the doors of its compressor station in Eggendorf, Lower Austria, offering young, curious girls exciting insights into the world of energy.
At the heart of the event was the question of how the energy supply of tomorrow will be shaped – and the role that technology, innovation, and commitment play in it. The participants had the opportunity to experience firsthand the diverse responsibilities of a transmission system operator and to gain initial insights into potential career paths in the energy sector.
Hands-on insights into the energy world
During guided tours of the facility, the visitors learned how natural gas is transported and what it takes to ensure a safe and reliable energy supply in Austria and neighboring countries. They also gained an understanding of how the operation and maintenance of modern gas infrastructure are organized.
Focus on the energy of the future
Another key topic was the role of hydrogen as a future energy carrier. The participants discovered how existing pipelines are being prepared for hydrogen transport and how innovative technologies are contributing to the energy transition.
Technology you can experience
A particular highlight was the interactive hands-on station, where the girls became active themselves – for example, by bending pipes or assembling a tight flange connection. This made technology tangible and accessible, combined with teamwork and enthusiasm.
The day was marked by curiosity, exciting “aha” moments, and many questions about technical careers. For TAG, Daughter’s Day is an important initiative to inspire young women to pursue careers in the energy sector and to promote greater diversity in technical fields over the long term.
Special thanks go to all employees who contributed with great dedication and provided valuable insights throughout the day.
One thing is certain: The energy of tomorrow needs bold, curious, and committed talents.
