Pioneering the Hydrogen Transition – TAG GmbH as a First Mover in Hydrogen Infrastructure. On June 2, 2025, TAG GmbH was proud to be recognized as a first mover in hydrogen infrastructure at the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Grant Agreement Ceremony, held during the Energy Infrastructure Forum in Copenhagen. Our feasibility study – “H₂ Readiness of the TAG pipeline system – Conceptual Engineering & FEED preparation” – was awarded a CEF Energy Grant, confirming the strategic importance of their efforts toward decarbonizing the European energy system.

On the occasion of TöchterTAG 2025 (Daughters’ Day), TAG GmbH proudly opened the doors of its Vienna headquarters to curious and ambitious girls aged 12 to 14, offering them hands-on insights into the many exciting facets of the energy world.

We are pleased to inform that on April 14, 2025, the Hydrogen Interconnections in Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe (HI EAST) group meeting convened at the Albert Borschette Conference Center in Brussels to present and discuss candidate projects for the EU’s second Union list of Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) and Projects of Mutual Interest (PMIs).

The Baumgarten compressor station in Lower Austria is undergoing a significant transformation. Known for decades as a central natural gas hub for Austria, as well as Central and Eastern Europe, this energy node is now adapting to changing market conditions while preparing for a future as a hydrogen hub.

The 3,300 km Hydrogen Superhighway gains momentum – Shaping Europe’s Hydrogen Future

The 5th Trilateral Forum (Italy-Austria-Germany) took place on March 7, 2025, in Stuttgart, Germany, with a strong focus on accelerating the hydrogen economy and developing a concrete work plan for the SoutH2Corridor. This ambitious 3,300 km infrastructure project, designed by the four transmission system operators (TSOs) Snam S.p.A., TAG GmbH, Gas Connect Austria GmbH, and bayernets GmbH, aims to transport renewable hydrogen from North Africa to Italy, Austria, and Germany. By bridging continents, the project is playing a key role in driving Europe’s energy transition towards a sustainable and climate-neutral future.

On April 24, 2025, as part of Vienna Daughters’ Day, TAG GmbH invites girls aged 15 and above from Vienna, Lower Austria, and Burgenland to explore the exciting world of energy.

On January 21, 2025, Italy, Germany, Austria, Algeria, and Tunisia signed a joint declaration of intent in Rome, Italy, reaffirming their commitment to the SoutH2 Corridor. The ambitious 3,300-kilometer infrastructure initiative will transport renewable hydrogen from North Africa to Italy, Austria, and Germany, bridging continents to accelerate the energy transition.

Gas Connect Austria and TAG GmbH welcomed a high-ranking delegation of international diplomats to the Baumgarten gas station, an important hub for natural gas in Europe. The guests from 35 countries learned about Austria’s central role in the European gas context.

After the last Customers’ Satisfaction Survey in 2022, TAG GmbH intends to continue to improve the quality of its commercial services by evaluating the level of customers’ satisfaction.
