SUSTAINING THE
FLOW OF ENERGY
As an operator of critical infrastructure, TAG GmbH ensures a reliable and efficient energy supply across Austria and the neighboring countries. That is why this phrase means infinitely more to us than simply maintaining business operations. “Sustaining the Flow of Energy” means directing the flow of our present towards a better future – with a reliable energy supply today and a hydrogen-ready network tomorrow.
ESG: Three Topics, Three Promises
SUSTAINING TOMORROW. SUSTAINING SOLIDARITY. SUSTAINING TRUST.
Three promises we hold ourselves to: protecting the environment of tomorrow, fostering solidarity with people and communities, and securing trust through responsible corporate governance. For us, these topics are an integral part of our business strategy – not an afterthought.
Sustaining Tomorrow · Environmental
Actively shaping the energy transition
Fewer emissions, more hydrogen: TAG is consistently preparing its infrastructure for a low-carbon future. Environmental awareness is an integral part of our long-term value creation. Our climate roadmap sets clear targets and is backed by multi-annual programs: the electrification of our compressor fleet, the systematic measurement and reduction of methane under the UN-backed OGMP 2.0 framework, and the use of waste heat and photovoltaics at our sites.
- Climate targets: –70% CO₂ (Scope 1) by 2030, net zero by 2040, –70% methane by 2030
- H₂ Readiness: converting the pipeline system for hydrogen – part of the European SoutH₂ Corridor
- Biomethane & CO₂ transport: gradually preparing the network for green gases
- Biodiversity: wildflower meadows and a long-term species-protection strategy along the pipeline
Sustaining Solidarity · Social
People at the heart
It is the employees who are at the heart of every successful company.
By safeguarding the well-being, development and safety of our employees, we lay the foundation for long-term success. We invest continuously in training and skills, foster a culture of diversity and inclusion, and run long-standing community partnerships along our pipeline route.
- Safety first: the ‘Golden Safety Rules’, ongoing training and the goal of a Lost Time Injury Rate below 2
- Development: individual training, new topics such as hydrogen and ESG, an enhanced onboarding program
- Diversity & inclusion: a value we live by every day – not a symbolic gesture
- Community: long-term partnerships (Austrian Book Club, Diakonie, Lebenshilfe, Movember)
Sustaining Trust · Governance
Trust through responsibility
Trust is earned through responsibility and accountability. Sound governance is the backbone of our sustainability agenda. We have institutionalized an ESG management function with clear roles, embedded ethics and compliance across the company, and continuously strengthen our resilience against physical and cyber threats.
- Integrity: public Code of Ethics, compliance program aligned with the UN Global Compact & OECD Guidelines
- Risk & control: company-wide risk management and an internal control system
- Resilience: the ARGUS physical-security program and ISO 27001 for cybersecurity (NIS2-ready)
- Transparency: no political donations; lobbying in the public register
Audited, certified, recognized
Our management systems are continuously audited by external bodies – a visible sign of responsibility in practice.
